Invigilating the midterm. Yes, that's right, marking starts this afternoon while Canada goes for women's hockey gold.

In other frustrating and irritating news, Roland Emmerich is giving public voice to the authorship question in his film Anonymous. It's nice that he has a "true English cast" but at this point he could have Jamie Bamber playing the Earl of Oxford (and we all know how I feel about Jamie Bamber) and I would still be outraged. What is up with this week's fail? Outside of Scott and Tessa Monday night and Joannie Rochette and Mirai Nagasu and Laura Lepisto Tuesday night and Team Canada yesterday, SO MUCH SUCK? Why so sucky, week?

Team Stratford huh?

Oh it has public voice. Its not a loud public voice mind you, but theres enough there to get what?... 3 books in the last 2 years (1 on the history of the Question and two advocating particular figures). I work for an Authorship Advocate that constantly battles on Wikipedia and even managed to get the Oxfordians to have their annual conference at our theater.

Funny part is he doesnt seem (to me at least) to have a firm belief in any particular canidate, but our Shake-Speare festival programs used to be newspaper sized with pages of newsprint devoted to Oxfordian and generally anti Stratfordian articles. For the most part I think he liks the battles and comaradery and a potential advertising hook for the Festival.

My personal consipracy theory, once I learned that the current Earl of Oxford likes to lecture on dear Grandad being teh true author is that hes prepping to sue for retroactive royalties. Utter bollocks on my part but it steams up the serious academics.

That was me above I fergot to log back in.

PS yes, the festival of plays we performed when he was fulltime Artistic Director was hyphenated Shake-Speare to indicate his advocacy for Debate of Authorship. What is it? 5 different signatures and 5 different spellings? See what he did there aint thos Authorship folks clever...now if youd liek to read these pamphlets on the goals of the Libertarians Party... ;)

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
