St. Trinian's prompt table 31-40
by Me
Pairing: Kelly Jones/Annabelle Fritton (except for a couple)
Rating: G - R
Notes: For my wifelet, because she was in Germany and Scotland and I was bored

Prompt #31: Sacred
When Annabelle sees Kelly and Polly tucked together on a branch of the big tree in front of the school, she ducks her head and walks by quickly. Apparently, nothing is sacred anymore.

Prompt #32: Farewells
It’s a week after that first breakfast when Kelly finds Annabelle sitting in the student lounge with no one else around. “Annabelle.” “Kelly. Oh, you want this back.” She unfastens the leather strap from her wrist and holds it out. “I… thanks.” “I wish you happy, Kelly, good luck.” She gathers her books and leaves. It’s the last time they’re alone before graduation.

Prompt #33: World
“I want to take you somewhere for the winter holiday, Annabelle” Annabelle looks up from practicing her hockey swing. “What? Aren’t you going home to your dad?” “Dad's going to Russia on business and I don’t want to spend December in Siberia. I’d rather take you to the Cote d’Azul and cuddle up in a little cottage for Christmas.” Annabelle blushes. “I'd like that, too.”

Prompt #34: Formal
Kelly gapes. All her imaginings of Annabelle in the silk dress didn’t come close to the reality standing before her, slender and elegant in lavender. She holds out a delicate corsage of white roses and orchids. “ I love you, Annabelle.”

Prompt #35: Fever
For some reason, Annabelle is surprised that Kelly can swing dance, but she doesn’t know why she’s surprised. For herself, Annabelle is more than pleased to be spun out and back in to mesh her body with Kelly’s, to feel her girlfriend’s breath warm in her ear as she sings along, “You give me fever…”

Prompt #36: Laugh
Kelly discovers early in their relationship that one of the most delightful things about Annabelle is how surprised she looks when she’s having enough fun in bed to laugh. Her face lights up and her eyes sparkle and her whole body shakes with the enthusiasm of laughter.

Prompt #37: Lies
Every time Kelly kisses Annabelle, Annabelle feels like she’s playing a part. Kelly, for all her boldness, is still new to this and Annabelle’s been through a lot. Sweet kisses and moments in the sun just seem like lies.

Prompt #38: Forever
There’s a little chapel up the road from St. Trinian’s and one warm October morning, six years exactly after Carnaby Fritton transferred his daughter from Cheltenham Ladies’ College to St. Trinian’s School, Annabelle Fritton and Kelly Jones stand before the very old Vicar and pledge to love one another forever.

Prompt #39: Overwhelmed
In the week before sixth form sits for their A-levels, Annabelle buries herself in a pile of test preparation books and references. She barely eats, barely sleeps, and completely stops seeing her girlfriend. Finally, Thursday evening, Kelly physically drags her away from her books and spirits her away to a quiet dinner in town. Annabelle sighs, “Why aren’t you stressed, Kelly? You’re taking A-levels, too.” Kelly grins, “Neither of us needs to worry about passing, so there’s no point getting bogged down. Much better to spend the time with you.”

Prompt #40: Whisper
Kelly strokes Annabelle’s side and hisses in her ear, “You awake?" “Mrph?” “I said, are you awake, baby?" “Yeah, what is it, Kelly?" “I wanted to tell you, I love you.” “I love you, too” “Okay.” Kelly snuggles in and falls asleep, comfortable in Annabelle’s bed.

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
