I'm taking the leap and looking at grad schools. Because unemployment and lack of theatre do not suit me. The question is, am I looking for a straight up theatre MA? A Shakespeare Studies MA? A dramaturgy MA? A...directing MA? (for all instances of 'MA', read 'MA or MFA') I know there are grad students out there in flist land. Any thoughts? Better yet, locations? Right now, I like the look of the UMass Dramaturgy program and the U of Birmingham UK Shakespeare Studies Program, but I'm not entirely sure I want to do two or three straight years in England. SOU doesn't offer an MA (bastards) so no hope of working Ashland through grad school. And Simon Fraser doesn't have one either, so no Kugler.

Well, Boston's badass. Of course, I've never been out near where the big Amherst campus is, but if there's five colleges right there, it has to connect up fairly easily via the T.

MAs in the UK are almost all 1-year programs and there's a plethora to chose from. I don't know much about the Birmingham program, though.
