Look, it's another crash!

So, the message is that it can't finish the boot because it can't find hal.dll. I looked up hal.dll and I see that this seems to be a common problem and there are people offering hal.dll for download.

Here's my problem:
WHY WAS MY COMPUTER REBOOTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION????

Also, is it weird that there's a HAL file on a computer?...Hello, Dave...*shivers*

recommendation: burn everything important to you onto cds as soon as possible. reformat and reinstall the operating system on your computer.
