And the tears that have been threatening finally fall.

I burned my hand at work today. Slipped and slammed my right little finger into the side of the extremely hot metal popcorn kettle. It was blistering in under five minutes. And they made me stand there and work for two more hours with absolutely no medical treatment. And yelled at me for being slow, even though I was working one-handed with my non- dominant hand. I hate it there. I don't think I can go back again.

Fuck 'em all (well, not literally; they're not nearly deserving)and file for disability pay. You shouldn't have to put up with that kind of crap.

Disability, my ass. They're...not necessarily really following labour laws...

Then report them to OSHA. Revenge is sweet, after all.

There is that...

My parents feel I should endure because a) it builds character, b) all summer jobs suck, c) I should not depend on them for all my financial needs. I see their points. On the other hand, I like my sanity...

Screw that, fuck them over good. Seriously, youd be doing other people a favour, not just yourself.

Any customer service possition sucks. Just remember, this is just for spending money, you're going to college so you don't have to do this for the rest of your life.

Though I understand wanting to quit. But you're better than that. You can get through it. I believe! But if your hand gets really hurt or anything, make them pay for it. And when you quit, feel free to report to OSHA. Burning bridges isn't always bad. It's not like you'll ever be going back there again.

*hugs*

What's funny is that it's not the customer service part I hate...I like interacting with the guests mostly (Less when I'm in pain, but mostly) And I'm definitely the only person there who gets consistently complimented by customers for having a warm friendly smile and great service. I'm going to look for something else, but I will continue to hold a job until I come back. I'd just rather not be somewhere where it's common for people to put cups that fell on the floor back in the stacks. I think in a customer service position, it's more important to actually be customer friendly.

funny...what a concept..hehe. I totally understand, having worked at a movie theatre myself for awhile. If there is someone at the theatre you can talk to (like maybe one of the managers is really nice and understanding or something), maybe talking to them would be a good start. *hugs*

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
