Had to teach my almost 15 year old brother how to clean a toilet. My life is full of thrills.

Speaking of my brother...let's talk about my brother.

He's just finishing his freshman year of high school and he is...*gaspandegads* POPULAR. Yes, I have a popular brother. He's on the phone for at least an hour every night, usually a lot more, oftentimes conference calling. People he met for 5 days and has not seen since call him at least once a week. He gets invited to everything.
How did I fail him? I did my best to be a good role model and somehow I ended up with a mostly normal, POPULAR baby brother...
He plays drums in the marching band, he's learning how not to flunk out of high school, he's about 5'10" and adorable...It's quite disgusting.

His ID picture makes him look exactly like Napoleon Dynamite...

*Sigh*

He makes me feel so inadequate...

Congratulations. You have just learned the important lesson that siblings are different people. *throws you a party*

My two-years-younger brother was the most popular guy in his school without even realizing it (horde of no fewer than ten friends at our house every damn day) and graduated high school with a 3.9 average with no discernable effort on his part. I know well the feeling of "which one of us was adopted, and I hope it was me."

But I agree with Anne that there's no use in comparing yourself to others, especially when you are indeed incomparable.

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
