In honor of National Coming Out Day, please join B-GLAD for several special on-campus events:

Come Out, Come Out, Whatever You Are: From 9am to 5pm, we'll be tabling in the SUB. Please stop by and come out as whatever you want. Past favorites include a Doogie Howser MD lover, obssessed with corsets, and a Madonna fan.

We Are Who We Are: At 6pm in the Rotunda, B-GLAD will be hosting a campus-wide Queer 101. A panel of members of the UPS queer community, including students who identify as gay, lesbian, and bisexual, and gender and sexuality questioning students, will be answering questions and discussing their own experiences as queer teenagers and adults.

Party!: At 8pm, return to the Rotunda for the second annual Coming Out Day Dance! Music and food and fun, sponsored by B-GLAD.

We hope to see you there!

You know you're in trouble when...

You can come up with absolutely no good reasons to go to class, even though there's a midterm on Friday...Blergh. I really just wanna go back to sleep. Wacky dreams or not, sleep is better than Latin.

Excellent Queer 101 panel. Well-spoken people, very interesting questions, all around goodness. And now I have to write 3-5 pages about literacy campaigns.

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
