Got up, got dressed, drove down to Newport with my mum and grandma to see my mum's cousins (yes, they're my cousins too, but...second cousins or something...but I absolutely love them...) So, got to see Brent, who flatters me WAY more than I deserve. He's a published poet and we have long intellectual fights. Aerin, who was my absolute favourite cousin for years, but has matured (:p) since she had a son. And Scott, who is probably my favourite cousin from that side of the family. He's a music video and commercial producer/director. And Judy, who's my mum's generation and quite fantastic. We spent about two hours sitting out on the beach, talking, which was really nice and relaxing.
Then, we drove down to Laguna for dinner and Pageant of the Masters. Sadly, the Pageant was not as good as it has been, but it was still fun, and I bought myself a couple of penguin art prints...
So really, pretty good day. If my brain had shut up occasionally, it could even have been a great day.
