OMG, LeVar Burton! So cool!

Went to the Tacoma Public Library after Angels tech this morning to see LeVar Burton. He read Amazing Grace, which I remember from when it was on Reading Rainbow. He took questions and talked a lot about literacy and acting and how he got to where he is now, also discussed Star Trek! The library provided 8x10 glossies with children's book recommendations on the back for autographic purposes. It was so amazingly cool! Squee! I felt all little kidlike and fun!

Then went back to [livejournal.com profile] lornelover's suite and watched Stargate and other assorted televised stuff for four hours and am now back in my room, having accomplished NOTHING today. The really great part is that I don't seem to care!

Sigh, [livejournal.com profile] racetrack0 and Heather are going to Vancouver tomorrow...Whatever shall I do without them?...

::edit:: Oh, also, in one of the day's biggest shockers...

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
