Mar. 5th, 2008 02:59 pmSlow computers are the DEVIL.
Thing the first, I had to drive to my grandmother's (10 minutes each way) to plug her ethernet cable into the back of her computer. Annoying, but since it was my fault it was unplugged, I accept it. (Neither she nor my mother could figure out that the internet wasn't working because it WASN'T PLUGGED IN. *facepalm* I despair sometimes, I really do)
Thing the second, her computer is a brick. A reeeeeeeeeeeeeally slow brick. It took, from clicking on the icon on her desktop to the program being fully open, literally 17 minutes for AOL to load. Not to connect to the internet, that was about a minute and a half, but to OPEN THE PROGRAM. I wanted to scream. I get that she doesn't need the kind of speed I need. But c'mon. I mean, c'mon.
Thing the third, people who can't resize a window don't get computers. Period. Having now done the lecture-demo for her, I expect NEVER to have to deal with that again. EVER.
In conclusion, ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!
