bardic_lady: (starbuck - hate you. a lot.)
Dear world,
I was most of the way asleep. I would've slept through the night and everything. So having me turn and knock over the glass on my nightstand, bathing my head, my bed, my power strip and hard drives with iced tea was totally unnecessary.

I have reinflated the air mattress and will sleep in the living room.

No love WHATSOEVER,
Me
bardic_lady: (parker - angry place)
Hey guess what!

The air mattress has sprung a leak.

I have patched it with duct tape.

If anyone needs me, I'll be over here, beating my head against the ground.

LIFEFAIL. And it's not even 3am yet.
bardic_lady: (takarazuka - mii-chan no)
Nope, patching it in one place caused catastrophic non repairable failure in another place. I guess I'm curling up on the foot of my bed to sleep tonight.

WHAT IS THIS BAD KARMA FOR?
bardic_lady: (ratatouille - those days)
So, after I spent an hour and a half trying to sleep, I decided to make myself a nice soothing bowl of oatmeal, which was very tasty for 4am oatmeal, and then I went to bed and finally fell asleep after five.

Woke up at 8:30 coughing so hard I couldn't go back to sleep for about an hour. Sucked on a vitamin C drop and eventually fell asleep again.

When I woke up again, I discovered that I left the milk out all night. *facepalm* I got up and went to my chiropractor appointment, knowing I had many many joints out of alignment. He told me that the Student Society, who are in charge of the Student Union Building, where the chiropractor is, had decided not to renew his lease and therefore I would cease to have a chiropractor as of Monday.

I went for shrimp and chips, Home Depot for a hook for my jewelry organizer, and Safeway for many food like items, including two bags of my most favourite salad mix. Also stopped at Starbucks for a blended strawberry lemonade and finally gave in and bought myself a wee plushie Starbucks sea turtle. He's adorable. I have not named him yet.

Today has been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

Day #10 - Your Favourite History
As previously mentioned, Henry V is my favourite history. I know he wasn't actually the greatest king and there's a lot wrong with history of it, but none of the histories are really that long on history. I adore the Chorus, I love "we happy few", I love "upon this charge cry god for Harry, England, and St. George". Oh, and I dearly love Ken Branagh's version, though I'm not a huge fan of his take on the Chorus, but Patrick Doyle's music is stunning, breathtaking.

Tomorrow, a question I haven't inadvertently already answered!

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
