Thank you.

A list of things:

Hugh Jackman is going to host the Tonys again. Yay!
Comp-Sci got out a half hour early today. Unfortunately, the class voted not to postpone the midterm, so whee, test on Friday at noon.
I have electrics today to hang the rep plot for festival. I'm tired and I don't want to. I'd rather nap.
I discover new things about me every day.
My current mood leads to very strange poetry.
Spring Break needs to be now.
bardic_lady: (yeah right)
Well, now.

Slept through both class and electrics. Oops.

I do feel guilty, but I needed that three hour nap so badly that I just can't feel that bad about it.

Went to Chris McKim's Jacobsen concert, which was EXCELLENT. The first half was very nice, he did a lovely set accompanied by cello, flute and piano, but it was the second act that really rocked. He did a set of ribald songs in French that the translations were just fantastic.
You are as beautiful as an angel,
sweet as a little lamb;
There is not a heart, Jeanneton,
that has not fallen beneath your spell.
But a girl without breasts
is like a partridge without orange.

and

To the god of Love a virgin offered a candle,
thus to gain a lover.
The god smiled at her request and said to her:
Fair one, while you wait the offering has its uses

Watching [livejournal.com profile] akumakei's face would have made the concert worth attending, even if I hadn't loved the material. The last set he did was portrayals of baritones in musical theatre! Squee! He sang "In Praise of Women", from A Little Night Music, and "Surrey with the Fringe On Top", from Oklahoma, and several other fantastic songs! I now need the soundtracks for Kismet and Closer Than Ever. And then there was cake. Which is always good.

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
