Still not bounced back yet. Damn it.

On the other hand, have officially started my next stage managing position, a concert version staged reading of a new musical written by a couple of professors on campus. It's called Silver Screen and it's a '30's-style dance musical, though for the reading there won't be any dance...Auditions were yesterday and callbacks were today, so casting should be posted tomorrow. We have three weeks of sporadic rehearsals and then the reading. Don't know what I think yet, I liked the snippets of music I've heard so far, but have yet to read the script, I think we get them on Thursday...

So, yeah. Life goes on and whatnot...

Damn the no dance. If they would just have included even a token, small percentage of the dancing, I would've auditioned.

I'm right there with you. I think it's going to look dumber than dirt to do a show that's completely based in Fred and Ginger (The leads are Frank and Ginevra for pete's sake) without any dancing...

Agreed. Why couldn't they just use a couple of dancers? It's not like they need a whole chorus who can dance.

a) D'you want me to ask if they want a couple of dancers?
b) If I ask and they say yes, are you willing to do it?

a) I suppose that would have been a better question to ask before the whole audition process were done. That would've been much easier to approach them about, when I think about it, before the casting was done. Much, much easier.

b) I won't argue with you if you still do ask, and if they for some reason do say yes, I would be very interested in doing so.

I Cannot Hide What I Am

I must be sad when I have cause and smile
at no man's jests, eat when I have stomach and wait
for no man's leisure, sleep when I am drowsy and
tend on no man's business, laugh when I am merry and
claw no man in his humour...
I had rather be a canker in a hedge than a rose in
his grace, and it better fits my blood to be
disdained of all than to fashion a carriage to rob
love from any: in this, though I cannot be said to
be a flattering honest man, it must not be denied
but I am a plain-dealing villain. I am trusted with
a muzzle and enfranchised with a clog; therefore I
have decreed not to sing in my cage. If I had my
mouth, I would bite; if I had my liberty, I would do
my liking: in the meantime let me be that I am and
seek not to alter me.
